Last updated on Thursday, January 25, 2007

(STATEHOUSE) - A bill to offer full day kindergarten has been introduced by Democratic State Representative Greg Porter.

The House Education Committee approved the bill 9-2. It now goes to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Another version of the bill is being considered. The Republican rendition calls for a two-to-three year phase-in. Porter's bill calls for immediate implementation statewide.
