Democratics Warn Daniels Of Privatizing Proposals
(STATEHOUSE) - The Indiana General Assembly has begun its four-month session Monday with both parties echoing U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s promise.
She says it should be "partnership, not partisanship." House Majority Leader Russell Stilwell says the election's over, and it's time to cooperate. But he's repeating warnings the new Democratic Majority will be more skeptical of Governor Daniels' privatization proposals.
Stilwell and Minority Leader Brian Bosma agree the parties should be in sync on goals from neutralizing an expected property-tax hike to health insurance. It's their ideas of how to achieve them that will differ.
