(STATEHOUSE) - The Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court has been reappointed.
Randall Shepard was appointed Wednesday to serve his 5th term as chief justice. The Evansville resident was placed on the state's highest court by then-governor, Republican Robert Orr, in 1985. Shepard has led the group since 1987.
Shepard was the only candidate reviewed for the post by the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission. The seven-member commission is made up op three lawyers elected by attorneys and three citizens appointed by the governor. His new term begins March 4th.
