(STATEHOUSE) - A state senator says he wants to give more control to cities when it comes to enforcing Indiana’s fireworks legislation.
Senator Vic Heinold says he received a resolution from the Valparaiso city council which says it wants to establish local control of how fireworks are sold and used.
The move, Heinold says, allows cities to make local restrictions stronger than what's allowed by state law, but would not give cities the power to disregard the law entirely.
