(STATEHOUSE) - Indiana District 65 State Representative Republican Eric Koch, from Bedford, has introduced legislation to help Hoosiers from caller ID spoofing.
Koch's bill would prevent anyone from obtaining confidential customer records form a telecommunications service provider by spoofing caller IDs or pretexing.
House Bill 1041 will also require telecommunication providers to notify customers of any unauthorized acquisition or disclosure of confidential customer records. Koch's District 65 includes Lawrence, Jackson, Brown and Bartholomew counties.
