(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Dick Lugar has announced that communities in Indiana will share in over $3-million in grant money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of its Emergency Food and Shelter Program.
The funds will support social service agencies to help feed and shelter the hungry and homeless.
Locally, Lawrence County will receive nearly $36,000, while Orange County will get just under $15,000. Washington County will receive just over $19,000, Crawford County $8,800. Greene County will get $22,000 and Monroe County's share will be nearly $63,500.
A national board of volunteer agencies chaired by FEMA administers the EFS Program.
