(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington lawyer Ken Nunn is suggesting the city install surveillance cameras across the city as an anti-crime measure, however, city officials say no.

Indianapolis has begun installing 27 cameras in high-crime areas to make criminals think twice before acting.

Nunn says Bloomington should do the same to make sure it doesn't duplicate Indy's near-record murder rate this year. Police Captain and City Councilman Mike Diekhoff says it was a good move for Indianapolis, but Bloomington doesn't have Indy's crime problems, and has a smaller downtown, which makes it easier for officers to maintain a visible presence.
