(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County Republican Chairman Franklin Andrew met Monday’s deadline to file for recounts by less than an hour, but was in time to ask for another tally in three races.
Andrew says Election Day "funny business" may have contributed to Republican losses in the races for County Auditor, one County Council seat and a Township Assessor.
Andrew says a woman found improperly carrying absentee ballots on Election Day after making a key to gain entry to sensitive areas signals a need to scrutinize the process further.
Democrats call the move a waste of time and money.
