(STATEHOUSE) - There will be recounts in four Indiana House races.

Republicans won three house seats by a combined total of less than 60 votes.

Five-term Indianapolis Representative Ed Mahern, the only Democratic incumbent to lose his seat, charges Marion County's elections were the most flawed in the state.

He says 19 nursing home residents got ballots for the wrong district in a race he lost to Jon Elrod by seven votes.

And he complains election officials fed some ballots hours after they were filled out because of problems with scanning machines, which meant voters were no longer there to fix wrongly-filled out ballots.
