Statewide Trail System

Last updated on Tuesday, September 5, 2006

(STATEHOUSE) - The Daniels Administration continues plans for a comprehensive trail system that would allow people to walk, run, or bike from border to border by the year 2016.

Daniels has called for up to $20-million in state funding, but a spokesman says he is still working on an actual funding plan to submit to the general assembly.

The idea is to connect the numerous municipal trails into a statewide network.

Engineers are already designing bike paths and other trails into new road projects.
