(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor Mitch Daniels is pushing forward to find a funding model for full day kindergarten state wide.
Daniels says he wants to bring his plan to the table in the 2007 general session of the legislature and says it can be done, using existing state money.
Daniels' Education Roundtable met Wednesday in downtown Indianapolis to brainstorm about how to proceed, including whether to make it mandatory.
Just over half of schools in Indiana already offer some form of full day kindergarten, using their own funding sources, including parental fees.
