Voting Machine Investigation Continues

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Secretary of State is continuing his investigation into voting-system equipment that affected the primary election more than three months ago.
Todd Rokita will decide whether to fine Election Systems and Software up to $300,000 for poor service and faulty equipment.
His office is withholding federal money from nine counties that bought the voting machines. Some counties had planned to use the funds to pay ES&S for the equipment. That could make it harder for the state to recover the money if the federal government tries to get it back because of the equipment problems.
ES&S has declined to comment on the investigation. Company officials say equipment problems have been fixed.
