(UNDATED) - Ninth District Congressman Mike Sodrel is taking advantage of the congressional summer recess, by touring the district.
Sodrel says there are many issues on the minds of voters, and that includes the topic of oil, the escalated cost of energy and the nation's dependence on foreign oil.
Sodrel says the United States should end its dependence on foreign oil and begin converting to renewable energy sources.
There has been a lot of publicity surrounding the construction and expansion within the biofuels industry, but Sodrel says the industry is currently using ethanol and soy-bio-diesel as a filler.
Sodrel announced that he is co-sponsoring legislation which sets specific fuel conversion goals of using renewable energy for 25% of all energy needs by the year, 2025.
