State Warns Politicians About Phone Sales

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Six companies have paid fines to settle complaints about pre-recorded telephone sales calls and the state is warning the political parties about the same thing.
Pre-recorded phone calls have been illegal in Indiana since 1988, unless a live operator gets your permission first.
Five companies have agreed to fines totaling $43,500.
A sixth, fax-dot-com, was fined millions for illegal blast faxing, but the settlement covers its phone activities too.
