(EVANSVILLE) - Eighth District Congressional Candidate Brad Ellsworth says the government should crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants, rather than seeking new laws to address the issue.
Ellsworth says he opposes amnesty for the 12-million illegals already here, but says there's no point in worrying about them until the U.S. "cuts off the bleeding" of more immigrants coming in.
Ellsworth's opponent, Republican incumbent John Hostettler, chaired a field hearing in Evansville to blast a senate amnesty proposal as undermining wages for American workers.
