(BLOOMINGTON) - The first debate in one of the most hotly contested Indiana Congressional races is slated to take place later this month.
Ninth District Congressman Mike Sodrel will join Democratic challenger Baron Hill in Bloomington on August 31st. Hill's spokesperson Abby Curran says her boss wants rising gas prices to be a central issue.
Although the format has not been determined, Hill says he hopes to answer questions from the audience. The debate will be held at 8:00pm on the campus of Indiana University.
Liberatarian candidate Eric Schansberg has been invited to attend the WFIU/WTIU and Bloomington Herald-Times sponsored event. Organizers say he has yet to accept or reject the invitation.
