(INDIANAPOLIS) - Four months before Election Day, 37 State House candidates and seven Senate hopefuls have locked up victory.
The deadline has passed for the parties to fill vacancies on the fall election ballot.
Party leaders did recruit candidates in a dozen races. One representative, Indianapolis Democrat Jeb Bardon, has no GOP opposition but will face a challenge from a Libertarian candidate.
The roster of early winners includes two new faces. Democrat David Niezgodski will take over the house seat of South Bend's Tom Kromkowski, while Republican Phil Boots will claim the Senate seat of former Majority Leader Joseph Harrison.
