(STATEHOUSE) - Several new state laws went into effect this month.

Among them include, a bill ending exoneration from jury duty for a number of groups, including politicians, dentists, veterinarians and ferry workers.

Other laws seek to crack down on human trafficking and sex offenders.

There's also legislation limiting how the state can use eminent domain to seize property, and allowing

Hoosiers to apply for one gun permit for their whole lives, instead of having to re-apply each year.
