Two Hoosier Senators Split On Bill Vote
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - The United States Senate rejected a bill that would eliminate the estate tax, and the two Indiana Senators split on the vote.
Senator Evan Bayh, who has supported eliminating the death tax in the past, says he voted not to repeal it now because the country faces "mounting deficits."
He also says the Bush Administration needs to create a "fiscally responsible" plan to reduce the deficit.
Senator Richard Lugar, voted to abolish the estate tax.
