(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Indiana Senator Richard Lugar is giving advice on the Iraqi war and foreign diplomacy.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair says a reported troop pullout plan reducing U.S. numbers by half by the end of next year may not be such a good idea.
The Republican also denounces a Iraqi Prime Minister proposal to grant some insurgents amnesty.
Lugar also encourages the Bush administration to hold direct talks with North Korean officials to prevent the country from testing a missile that could strike U.S. soil.
