I.U. President May Step Down Early

(BLOOMINGTON) - For the first time, Indiana University president Adam Herbert has stated publicly that he could leave the president’s office before the end of his contract, perhaps as early as next July.
Since Herbert told the I.U. board of trustees in January that he would retire at the end of his contract in July 2008, there has been speculation about his future.
Herbert says he is committed to doing what's best for the university.
He says that could mean leaving the president's office early if circumstances dictate.
