(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Indiana Senator Richard Lugar has introduced legislation calling for the U.S. to support changing NATO’s role in energy security.
Lugar, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman, says NATO should allocate resources to help the world create new, sustainable sources of clean energy.
Lugar says it would not only help eliminate political manipulation based on strategic oil reserves, it would also help ease global tensions.
