Bolejack And Deputy Told To Leave

Last updated on Monday, May 15, 2006

(STATEHOUSE) - The director of the Criminal Justice Institute has been fired.

Governor Mitch Daniels had requested that Heather Bolejack and her top deputy be terminated amid an Inspector General investigation into reports that Bolejack had inappropriately authorized a $400,000 grant to a family friend and submitted inappropriate travel expenses.

An audit committee has also been appointed to look into other allegations against Bolejack. The Inspector General has been told to turn his information over to federal and state prosecutors for possible prosecution.
