State Continues To Fine Tune Voting Machines

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Secretary of State Todd Rokita says he’ll decide within the next couple of weeks whether to fine the company which supplies voting machines to Marion County and 26 other counties.
Rokita held a two-hour hearing on the glitches which have plagued E.S. and S. this year from missing ballot instructions to software that can’t handle some school board races.
Rokita has already found the states biggest voting machine supplier Microvote in violation of state standards.
Rokita says the cases are different. In Lawrence County, Clerk Julia Blackwell-Chase says the county is in good shape come May 2nd.
She says some of the original voting machines were saved after purchasing the new Microvote machines. If a problem occurs the old voting machines can be put in place to count the votes.
