Toll Road Lease Highlights This Year's Legislative Session

(STATEHOUSE) - The Toll Road Lease dominated this year’s legislative session, but it was far from the General Assembly’s only major move.

Governor Daniels predicts the combination of the Toll Road Lease, telecom deregulation and a little-noticed streamlining of the sales tax, postion Indiana as a national leader.

The Indianapolis fire merger never made it to a vote, but legislators did give other cities the right to enact their own Unigov by referendum.

And legislators passed temporary property tax breaks which Republicans say should offset local tax increases.
