STATEHOUSE—A top Senate Republican says passing the Toll Road Lease Deal hinges on whether Governor Daniels is willing to alter the route for the I-69 extension.
Gov. Daniels has resisted changing the route for I-69, warning it would further delay a road that's been in limbo for years already.
Appropriations Chairman Robert Meeks says Senators in and around Marion County's Perry Township are just as adamant they don't want the highway going through there. He says they're prepared to vote no, leaving the bill two or three votes short.
