(STATEHOUSE) - Governor Mitch Daniels announced several initiatives designed to help returning military personnel adjust to life back on American soil.

The governor says under the "Hoosier Veterans Seamless Transition Program," service men and women will have more time to decide on which services they need.

Healthcare, training and re-employment services have always been available. However, military personnel often feel "information overload" because traditionally they've been briefed on these services within days of their return to the U.S.

With the transition program, officials will give troops up to 90 days to rest before bombarding them with all the information.
