(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Indiana 4th District Congressman Steve Buyer is drafting a bill with lawmakers to deal with the issue of protests of military funerals.

Buyer is chairman of the Committee of Veterans Affairs which has jurisdiction of national cemeteries where this law will apply.

Indiana has three national cemeteries, Crown Point in Indianapolis, in Marion and New Albany. The law will be tailored to meet constitutional standards.

Buyer says a hearing will be held April 6, 2006 in the Veterans Affairs Committee to introduce the legislation that would prevent individuals from protesting at a national cemetery.
