Fireworks Law Getting Revamped
(STATEHOUSE) - Indiana’s much-rediculed fireworks law is on the brink of an overhaul.
The law is riddled with loopholes that have made it all but meaningless, from so-called shooting clubs where you can set off the most powerful fireworks to affidavits promising to set them off out of state. The few fireworks that were already completely illegal, such as M-80s, still are.
The bill legalizes the old gray area fireworks, but says only adults can buy them and they can only be set off with a property owner's permission, during certain hours each night. The House and Senate have approved the bill, and Governor Daniels is expected to sign it.
