Steele's Sex Offender Bill To Be Amended
Last updated on Wednesday, February 01, 2006
STATEHOUSE—Indiana Senator Brent Steele, of Bedford, has promised the Senate Appropriations Committee he will scale back his sex offenders bill to help save costs.
An amendment will be written to make the bill apply only to repeat child molesters or sexually violent predators.
A state agency estimated the cost would reach nearly $4-million by 2015.
With the amendment, Steele says the cost will be little to almost nothing.
