STATEHOUSE—Indiana’s Homeland Security Director says a second envelope flagged as suspicious in the Statehouse mailroom did indeed contain a white power.

Authorities closed the Statehouse for two hours Wednesday after an ssistant to House Speaker Brian Bosma opened a letter addressed to him, and white powder spilled out.

Homeland Security Director Eric Dietz still won't say to whom the second envelope was addressed, but says it aroused suspicion because it looked similar to the first.

Dietz says more sophisticated chemical testing by the F.B.I. confirmed the conclusion of preliminary electronic tests that the powder was nothing dangerous.

The sender could still face charges, but since the case is now classifies a hoax, the F.B.I. has turned the investigation back over to the state.
