Medical Quarantine Bill Is Passed In The Indiana House

STATEHOUSE—The Indiana House has passed a bill that would allow state health and medical officials to quarantine people suspected of having a contagious disease like bird flu.
Republican Representative William Ruppel of North Manchester is a co-author. He admits they don't have all the details worked out, but believes it's wise for the state to have procedures in place if a situation arises.
Ruppel says they're working to get language in the bill to protect the rights of the people who are ill, but yet protect public safety.
The bill moves on now to the Senate.
