STATEHOUSE—Governor Daniels has said flatly he has the votes to push his toll road lease deal through the house.
That wasn't clear last week, but northern Indiana legislators have closed ranks behind the plan.
Eleven Republicans from toll road counties had expressed doubts about the lease. But LaPorte Representative Mary Kay Budak says she's convinced the deal will bring jobs the district needs.
Michigan City Democrat Scott Pelath's district is right next door. He contends Republicans are voting against their constituents.
