Bosma Selected To Find Ways To Get Prayer Back At Official Meetings
STATEHOUSE—The Indiana House is urging Speaker Brian Bosma to use all lawful means to fight the recent court order prohibiting sectrarian prayers at official meetings.
Minority Leader Pat Bauer botes that prayer has been a part of official House business for 189 years.
The vote was bipartisan, if fact, it was unanimous 83 to nothing. But at least one democrat, David Orentlicher of Indianapolis, stayed away from the House Chamber just so he wouldn't have to take part in a vote he calls a misuse of the legislature's time.
