Statehouse Rally Held

Last updated on Friday, January 20, 2006

INDIANAPOLIS—A Statehouse rally was held to encourage the legislature to take action that would help mitigate rising energy costs.

Several bills have been proposed to help Hoosier familes deal with high heating bills.

They include Senate Bill 352 which would appropriate up to $20-million from tax amnesty revenues to expand the availability of Indiana's heating assistance program to low income Hoosiers.

Senate bill 216 would limit fees a gas utiltiy could charge to connect or reconnect service to its actual cost.
