Ronald Lloyd Meadows - Bedford
Ronald Lloyd Meadows, 73, of Bedford, died at 2:33 am on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born May 1, 1939 in Bedford, he was the son of Lloyd "Tack" and Agnes (Smith) Meadows. He married Linda Abrams on October 31, 1969 and she survives. He retired
in 1992 after thirty years as a diamond saw operator for Architectural Stone Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion and enjoyed horse pulls and collecting antiques.
Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Linda, of Bedford; two aunts, Betty Talingar of Bedford and Betty Meadows of Mooresville; several cousins; his dog, Cricket.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Guy Jones.
Ronnie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Saturday, April 6th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Bartlettsville Methodist
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, April 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Bartlettsville Methodist Cemetery Assoc.

Peggy Reuter - Bedford
Peggy Reuter, 66, of Bedford, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at her home.

Barbara A. Grider - Mitchell
Barbara A. Grider, 78, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
Shelley Renee Parsons - Leesville
Shelley Renee Parsons, 46, of Leesville, passed away at 7pm Thursday, March 28, 2013, at I. U. Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
She married Shelton Oren Parsons March 18, 1996. Shelley graduated from Bedford-North Lawrence High School in 1984, and received an accounting certificate from Ivy Tech. She was chassis coordinator at Gulf Stream Coach in Nappanee and had been employed at Sipes Body Shop in Bedford. She attended Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.
Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church in Mitchell. A fellowship meal will follow the service.

John Edward Blake - Bedford
John Edward Blake, 76, of Bedford, passed away at 1:54 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Garden Villa in Bedford.
He married Ethel Gregory and she survives. He was retired from the City of Bedford Street Department and was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He attended Friendly Bible Church and Crossroads Community Church.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Susie Johnson, 55, of Bedford, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Monday at her residence.
She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Johnson, on July 18, 1975 and he survives. She was a faithful wife, homemaker, wonderful mother and enjoyed being a nanny to her grandchildren. As a young mother, she home schooled her children as they traveled and evangelized throughout the country. She and Bill were pastors of the Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Avoca for twenty-two years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Friday at the Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Avoca. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends consider contributions be made to the family.
Jerry Kenneth Quackenbush - Bedford
Jerry Kenneth Quackenbush, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 9:38 pm on Tuesday, April 2nd .
Born July 24, 1925 in Bedford, he was the son of Lee Edgar and Dorothy Bessie (Newkirk) Quackenbush. He was married to Marjorie Maxine (Franklin) Quackenbush for more than 60 years.
In 1948 he started Jerry's Confectionery. He later took over his father's business, the 'R' Street Grocery, owning and managing it for more than forty-three years. He retired in 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving honorably during WW II at D-day and with the Marines at the invasion of Okinawa, Japan. He was a life-time member of Elks Lodge #826 and Gillen Post #33 American Legion. He was a sports enthusiast - part of Bedford's 1943 final four basketball team, an avid golfer at Otis Park Golf Club and a life-long fan of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. He was active in the Bedford community -- a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Bedford Redevelopment Commission under Mayor Hauck.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Bower and husband Stephen of Columbia, SC, Martha Holmes and husband J.R. of Bloomington, Nancy Bennett and husband Rex of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Holmes and wife Jennifer of Williamsburg, VA, Lindsay Bower of Charleston, SC, Meredith (Holmes) Johnson and husband Matthew of Valdosta, GA, Stephanie Bower of Charleston, SC, Katelyn Bennett of Indianapolis, Hannah Bennett of Middleburg, VA and Caroline Bower of Southern Pines, NC; three great grandchildren, Lilly and Lorelei Holmes of Williamsburg, VA and Ella Johnson of Valdosta, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marjorie and a brother, Robert (Bob) Quackenbush.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Tuesday, April 9th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday, April 8th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
