Robert Opal "Bob" Lake - Fayetteville

Robert Opal "Bob" Lake, 74, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his home.

Born May 25, 1938 in Lawrence County he was the son of Opal and Lucille (Parker) Lake. He had worked for the City of Bedford and was a member of the VFW.

Survivors include five children, Karen Parker, of Springville, David Miller, of Bedford, Randy Lake, of Bedford, Diane Hanners, of Bedford, Rosella Sons, of Bloomington; seven step-children, Bonnie Hughes, of Bedford, Jane Sykes, of Mitchell, Carolyn Harrison, of Bedford, Merle Hughes, of Bedford, Vera Glasgow, of Madison and Marvetta Baker, of Bedford; eight sisters, Marilyn Baker, of Springville, Evelyn Morgan, of Bloomington, Ruby Swartz, of Terre Haute, Kathy Terry, of Fayetteville, Theresa McGuire, of Fayetteville, Karen Speer, of Bedford, Pam Isom, of Bloomington and Paula Ford, of Lafayette; one brother, Jerry Lake, of Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Donnie Watson, one brother, Eugene Lake, two sisters, Kay and Debra.

No services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Carter Mortuary.

Ray Wagner - Bedford

Ray Wagner, 92, of Bedford, passed away at 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Stonebridge Health Campus. Arrangements are pending at Day & Carter Mortuary.

Thomas E. Jones - Bedford

Thomas E. "Tom" Jones, 89, of Bedford, passed away at 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Tom was born on August 22, 1923 in Carlisle, Indiana to Guy and Fern Esther (Niewald) Jones. He married Mabel Worley on May 17, 1945 in New London, Conn. and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2003.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Babbitt. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was the minister for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, camping and spending time with his family and friends and taking the Tiger Ear Booth to festivals and talking to everyone.

He retired from G.M. Powertrain in Bedford. He previously owned a watch and clock repair shop in Bedford. He continued that business at home and made many friends. He also worked at Whitney Tool & Dye.

Survivors include one sister, Eleanor Stuckey, of Odon; his daughters, Jennifer Haase, of Westland, MI., Sherry Hold, of Bedford, Jolene Eckert, of Bedford, Janet Kay Miller and husband Robin, of Bedford, Tina Tyree and husband Greg, of Mitchell; grandchildren, Barabar Haase Cosselmon, Teresa Haase Hernandex, Angela Haase, Deanna Haase Gilbert, Jessica Holt Olsen, Laura Holt Jenkins, Aimee Holt Weilenmenn, Andrea Collier Pruett, Melanie Collier Folerke, Erica Collier and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers, Kenneth Jones, Robert Jones, Charles Jones; sisters, Geneva and Ruby Jones, daughter Susan Collier, son Mark E. Jones and great grandson Gage Pruett.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1010 22nd Street in Bedford. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded by the American Legion of Mitchell Post 250. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tom's memory to the White River Humane Society.
