The following obituaries were received on Tuesday.

Mary Lou Brain - Bedford
Mary Lou Brain of Bedford passed away on Sunday, February 20th at her residence at the age of 80. Born in 1930 in Cape Giradeau to Albert and Alvina Haase, she had been married to Halden Lee Brain since 1956, was a homemaker and babysitter and was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Aaron Brain and his wife Mattie, Jeffery Brain and his wife Frieda, Theresa Magnus and her husband Mike, Angela Shank and her husband Burce and Jerry Brain and his wife Sarah; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Martha Kern and Anna May Rainey. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, February 24th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, February 23rd at the funeral home.

Willis Wayne Hawkins - Bedford
Willis Wayne Hawkins of Bedford passed away on Monday, February 21st at Stonebridge Health Campus at the age of 90. Born in 1920 in Lawrence County to Elza Dalton and Edna Hawkins, he had been married to Minnie Coombs since 1944, was a self-employed building and concrete contractor and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and the Korean War. Willis was also a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church, V.F.W., Gillen Post #33 American Legion and the Lawrence County Homebuilder's Association. He is survived by his wife, Minnie; one son, Kent Hawkins and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one daughter-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mary Barlow - Bedford
Mary Barlow of Bedford passed away on Sunday, February 20th at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital at the age of 66. Born in 1945 in Lawrence County to Maynard and Mary Gardner, she was a CAN and caregiver for 40 years and was a member of the V.F.W. and Order of the Odd Fellows. She is survived by four children, Cheryl LaClair and her husband Dean, Cindy Wade and her husband Lloyd, Christy Wininger and her husband Tony and Cammie Barlow; as well as several grandchildren and two sisters, Vera Brown and Edith Sinders. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Don Gardner and two sisters, Ruth Smith and Dottie Guthrie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Dixon Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the hour of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

John E. Rowe - Oolitic
John E. Rowe of Oolitic passed away on Sunday, February 20th at Select Specialty Hospital in Beech Grove at the age of 67. Born in 1943 in Lawrence County to Rufo and Virginia Rowe, he had been married to Pauline Sexton since 1964, was retired from RCA in Bloomington, was of Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of V.F.W., and Gillen Post #33 American Legion. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Melissa Rowe as well as several nieces, nephews, one brother and sister-in-laws. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, February 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, February 23rd and from 11:00AM until the hour of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
