Lorena Chastain - Bedford
Lorena Chastain of Bedford passed away Thursday morning, July 1st at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 100. Born in 1909 in Gibson County to Wilmer and Ella Caniff, she had been married to Maurice Chastain since 1930, was a tuperware distributer and an Avon representative for many years. She is survived by three daughters, Donna Martin, Carolyn Teghtmeyer and Elaine Newlin; several grandchildren; as well as one sister, Ruth Meyers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Donald Paul Chase; as well as seven brothers. Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, July 3rd at Mitchell cemetery with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until 2:30PM on Saturday, July 3rd at Day & Carter Mortuary.
Betty J. Arnold - Bedford
Betty J. Arnold of Bedford passed away on Thursday, July 1st at Methodist Hospital at the age of 80. Born in 1930 in Lawrence County to Oscar and Ilene Hammond, she had been married to Dale Arnold since 1947 and was retired from RCA in Bloomington. She is survived by her husband, Dale; one daughter, Susan Arnold; one son, Rick Arnold and his wife Mary Ann; several grandchildren; four sister-in-laws, Ruth Arnold, Doris Pierce, Juanita Callahan and Lucille Swigler and her husband Ed; one brother-in-law, John Arnold; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, July 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service on Monday, July 5th at the funeral home.
