James F. Cecil of Seymour passed away Friday evening, January 29th at Waters Nursing Home in Seymour at the age of 74.
Born in 1935 in Jefferson County, Kentucky to parents William Leo Cecil and Margaret (Masterson) Cecil, he was a retired supervisor for the Cummins Engine Company.
James was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Air Force and was a member of the Assembly of God.
He had been married to Mary Rosalie Turner since 1975.
He is survived by his wife; children, Kenny Turner, Kim Wood and her husband Jason, Ermina Davis and Jeff Turner, Susan Cecil, Tammy Cecil and Brian Cecil, Mike Stroud; several grandchildren; one brother, William Cecil as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Essie Bernette; one sister, Dorothy Rankin and brothers, Butch and Paul Cecil.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd at 1:00PM in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Hilltop Cemetery with military services accorded by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, February 1st at Day & Carter Mortuary.
