Roscoe Jean, 87, Mitchell

Roscoe Leland Jean of Mitchell passed away Tuesday morning, December 8th at Mitchell Manor and Living Rehabilitation Center at the age of 87.

Born in 1922 in Mitchell to parents Charles Edmund and Carrie Ola (Goldsmith) Jean, he had been married to Sara L. Whittington since 1942.

Roscoe served at the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Co 556 in Angola, Indiana in 1940, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Medical Corps as a Technician Fifth Grade, Roscoe was also a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Pauline (Jean) Melvin Saylor; brothers, Harold Jean and Hugh Jean.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edmund E. Jean and William H. Jean; two sisters, Lorena (Jean) Stephens and Thelma (Jean) Reynolds.
