Larry Steven Sallee of Mitchell passed away Sunday, December 6th at the age of 62.
Born in 1947 in Bedford to parents James and Magdaline (Brown) Sallee, he had been married to Linda L. Ross since 1967.
Larry served in the U.S. Army and the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.
He was a volunteer firefighter for Marion Township Rural Fire Department and Orange County Rural District No. 2 as well as a life long member of the Mitchell Church of Christ and a graduate of Mitchell High School.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, William Sallee and his wife Stacy, Steven Salle and his wife Earlene, Joseph Salle; one daughter, Stephanie Knight and her husband Charles; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several step grandchildren; one sister, Sally Begarly and her husband Ron; one brother, William Salle and his wife Lynn as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30AM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded graveside by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, December 9th and from 9:30AM until the hour of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
