Jack R. Thompson, 87, Bedford

Jack R. Thompson of Bedford, formerly of Liberty, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Stonebridge Health Campus at the age of 87.

Born in 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ralph and Hazel Thompson, Jack was a Navy veteran of World War II, worked for Eli Lilly, owner of Berman Drug Store in Liberty until 1967, pharmacist for hospitals in Illinois and Indiana, was a member of the Union County School Board, Edwards Memorial Methodist Church, Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine of Indianapolis, First Presbyterian Church of Bedford, and Dunn Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

He is survived by his wife Violet, daughters Kathie and Vanessa, sons Paul and Jack, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of service Saturday at the church.
