Merlin A. Platteter, 89, Bedford

Merlin A. Platteter of Bedford, formerly of Brookfield, Wisconsin, passed away Monday morning at Stonebridge Health Campus at the age of 89.

Born in 1919 in Stetsonville, Wisconsin to George and Amanda Platteter, Merlin was a retired machinist from Allis-Chalmers in West Allis, Wisconsin, Army veteran of World War II, and member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford and National Guard 32nd Division Veterans Association of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He is survived by his son Dale, daughter Mary, brother Kenneth, and 6 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Erma, and 4 brothers.

Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

No visitation is scheduled in Bedford.
