James R. Horner, 84, Bedford

James R. Horner of Bedford passed away Monday morning at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington at the age of 84.

Born in 1924 in Lawrence County to Thomas and Frieda Horner, James was a wastewater treatment operator at GM, assistant to Leonard Clerk DVM, Army veteran of World War II and member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and UAW Local #440.

He is survived by his second wife Joann, son James, daughters Jill, Debbie and Sherry, sister Mary, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Jean, and brothers Robert, Thomas, Donovan and Jack.

Services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00am at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow at Tunnelton Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3:00 until 8:00pm today at Ferguson-Lee.
