Helena Elizabeth Emerson, 88, New Castle

Helena Elizabeth Emerson of New Castle, formerly of Bedford, passed away Monday after a lengthy bout with Alzheimer’s at the age of 88.

Born in 1919 in Olney, Illinois to Charles and Selma Hall, Helena was a member of 1st Baptist Church in New Castle, American Legion Auxiliary, 19-year employee if the Fabricast Plant of General Motors, and was a retail dress shop manager in Michigan City.

She is survived by her sons William, and Ralph, sister Marjorie, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband James.

Services will be held Friday morning at 10:00am at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00pm tomorrow at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.
