Dorothy Armstrong of Bedford passed away Friday evening at Westview Nursing Center at the age of 87.
Born in 1920 in Dugger, Indiana to Robert and Orzella Holstclaw, Dorothy was a retiree from Essex in Mitchell and worked at Crane, RCA, Hobby's Inn and M. Fine & Sons, and was a member of Leesville Eastern Star, Eagles and American Legion Gillen Post 33.
She is survived by her children Pauline, Lina, Ronnie, Sharon, Dorothy, and Chester, brothers Jerry and Lexie, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Chester and Harry, son Vernon, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Services will be held this afternoon at 3:00 at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at Dive Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 1:00 until time of service at Day & Carter.
