Bernard W. Demaree of Bedford, known to friends and family as “Bernie,” passed away Thursday morning at White River Lodge in Bedford at the age of 84.
Born in 1923 in Bennam, Indiana to Raymond and Anna Demaree, Bernie was a factory worker at RCA and sold tickets at Churchill Downs and other race tracks, and was a member of American Legion Gillen Post 33 in Bedford and the VFW in Bloomington.
He is survived by his daughters Ramona, Rexann and Edna, son Brad, brothers Billy and Larry, sisters Joann, Mary Ann and Mildred, and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth Ann, and daughters DeeDee And Emma Lee.
Services will be held this afternoon at 2:00pm at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
