Brian Phillip Blanchard - Bedford
Brian Phillip Blanchard, 44, of Bedford, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at I.U. Health, Bedford.
Born August 22, 1969, in Oswego, NY, he was the son of Warren Blanchard and Connie Branchau.
He was a graduate of Oswego (NY) High School, Class of 1987; he was very active in Lawrence Co. Alcoholics Anonymous.
Surviving are four daughters, Sarah Stroud, Alisha Sandoval, Marissa Clavelli and Brianna Blanchard; two sons, Joseph and Phillip Blanchard; one grandchild, Etzio Stroud; three brothers, Jay Branchau, Jeff Blanchard and Matthew Maynard; two sisters, Mary Ellen Statts and Sonya Nau; his step-father, Robert Branchau; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mary Blanchard.
A Memorial Service is planned for a later date.
Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, is in charge of arrangements.

Maurice E. Shoultz - Loogootee
Maurice E. Shoultz, 86, of Loogootee, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 4:45 p.m.
He was born on December 21, 1927 in Gleason, Indiana to Nathan and Esther (Fox) Shoultz. He married Mary Margaret Street on May 8, 1948 and she preceded him in death on October 23, 1994.
He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Foster, of Bedford; Thressa Shoultz, of Loogootee; Lisa Doyle, of Loogootee; Michelle Shoultz, of Loogootee and Denise Johnson of Otwell; two sons, Duane Michael Shoultz, of San Antonia, TX and Anthony Gerard Shoultz, of Loogootee; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife; two sons, Daniel and Darrell Shoultz; one daughter, Lori Bateman and one brother, Robert Shoultz.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy with 28 years of naval service reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer and he served in World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bramble. Maurice was a founding member of the Loogootee V.F.W. and member of the Loogootee American Legion, Petersburg Moose Lodge #1617 and the La Societe of the 40 et 8 #107. He was a boiler mechanic and retired after 34 years of service from NWSC Crane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend J. Kenneth Walker on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bramble. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Loogootee American Legion and V.F.W. will accord military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lee Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Preferred memorials can be made in Maurice's memory to the Gebault School. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Anna E. (Smoot) Turner - Bedford
Anna E. (Smoot) Turner, 83, of Bedford, died at 4:21 pm on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born June 1, 1931 at Indian Springs in Martin Co., she was the daughter of Russell and Georgia (Curran) Smoot. She married Loris Estil Allen in 1947. She later married Raymond Concannon in 1963 and he preceded her in death. She married James "Red" Turner in 1985 and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was employed at Sarkes-Tarzian in the Test Department and was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Paul Allen of Oolitic; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sons, Tony Allen and Phillip Allen; six brothers, Sherman, Henry, Roy, Eugene, Lloyd "Bud" Smoot and one in infancy; five sisters, Mattie Roberts, Addie Mae Smith, Ethel Carmichael, Mary Greer and Katherine Deckard; a grandson, Tony Ray Allen, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Wednesday, August 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 19th and from 10 am August 20 until the hour of service on Wednesday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
