Jack Sullivan, Jr. - Springville

Jack Sullivan, Jr., 77, of Springville, died at 12:05 am on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.

Born November 27, 1936 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Jack E. and Tina Jane (Stannard) Sullivan. He married Catherine Mulryan on April 17, 1958 and she survives. He was employed at Extruded Alloys for twenty-two years and retired from Ford Aerospace in Bedford after fifteen years. He was a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman's Club.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine, of Springville; three sons, Tim Sullivan and wife, Beth, of Walton, IN, Chris Sullivan of Bedford and Mike Sullivan and wife, Cynthia, of Wellington, CO; two daughters, Theresa Stuffle and husband, David, of Loogoottee and Lori Jones of Springville; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, James (Pete) Sullivan of Heltonville; two sisters, Kizzie Stultz of Carmel and Ramona Bivens of Florida, one sister-in-law, Maxine (Elmer) Worley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Barbara Jackson and two brothers, Charles Sullivan and Elmer Worley, a son-in-law, Rick Jones, one sister-in-law, Ann (Pete) Sullivan, one brother-in-law, George (Kizzie) Stultz.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Patton Hill Cemetery with Phil Thorne officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 pm on Monday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Mary Naomi Walker - Loogootee

Mary Naomi Walker, 89, of Loogootee went to be forever with her Lord on May 14, 2014 at Noon at the Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Naomi was the last of nine children born to Elias Oscho and Rillie Mae (White) Habinson and was born in Rutherford Township on November 27, 1924.

She married the love of her life, Rev. Elza V. Walker, on August 26, 1966 in French Lick adn he preceded her in death on November 3, 1995.

She graduated from Loogootee High School and attended bible college at the Franklin Bible College in Frankfort, Indiana. Naomi worked a few years for the Reliance Shirt Factory in Loogootee, but quit to take care of her ailing parents. She found caregiving to be a good fit for her and never returned to work outside of the home again, preferring to be a caregiver to family members when called upon and assisting her husband with patoral duties in several Indiana counties. Presently, Naomi attended the Mount Zion Wesleyan Church where she served as pianist and organist.

She will be truly missed by her family, including her daughter, Alfreda and Leland Gibson, of Loogootee; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Bernadine Choates, four brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at the Queen Lee Funeral Home in Loogootee from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Mount Zion Wesleyan Church in Rutherford Township. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mount Zion Wesleyan Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
